Security
CMC - NorthEast's facilities and parking areas are monitored by our security staff and closed-circuit television cameras. If you need to reach Security, you may call extension 6595 or contact the Medical Center operator. Emergency telephones are located in the Medical Center parking areas. We also require our employees, volunteers and physicians to wear identification badges. If someone you don't know enters your room and cannot show you his or her badge, please call the nurse's station.
Property
Your property is your responsibility. Illness, whether it affects you or a loved one, is stressful and loss or damage to personal property can also cause stress. We would like your stay at CMC - NorthEast to be as comfortable and as stress-free as circumstances will allow. Therefore, we have compiled a list of suggestions on ways to protect your personal belongings while you are a patient here.
Glasses - When you are not using your glasses, please keep them in their case and place in a drawer or bedside stand. Please do not leave your glasses on the overbed table or on top of the bedside stand. We also request that you do not store your glasses under your pillow or inside the pillowcase.
Dentures - When your dentures are not in use please keep them in a denture cup and place them in the drawer of your bedside stand. We ask that you do not wrap your dentures in tissues or paper towels, or leave them on your food tray, overbed table or on top of the bedside stand. Also, do not place your dentures in a paper cup under your pillow or inside the pillowcase.
Clothing - Please keep your extra clothing in the closet, your suitcase or in the drawer. Please do not place soiled clothing in trash bags. A hospital gown will be provided upon request.
Valuables - We ask that you leave money, jewelry, credit cards and any other valuables at home, or give them to a family member or other responsible person to keep for you. You may also choose to deposit your valuables in the Medical Center safe until your discharge. If you will be out of your room for diagnostic tests or surgery, or if you will be in other parts of the Medical Center or the lounge, please do not leave valuable property unattended in your room.
CMC - NorthEast is not responsible for valuables or personal property.
Smoking Policy
CMC - NorthEast is a smoke-free facility. No smoking is allowed in the building or on the NorthEast campus. Thank you for consideration for the health and safety of our patients, visitors, and employees.
Appliances
Our electrical safety codes prohibit the use of privately-owned televisions, radios or other electrical appliances in patient rooms. The use of cellular phones is also prohibited because they may disrupt the operation of vital medical equipment. Personal care devices such as electric shavers and hair dryers may be used after inspection by the Facilities Management Department. If you need to use this kind of electrical device, please ask your nurse to arrange for an inspection.
Medications
Leave your prescriptions and other medications at home. Return any drugs you have brought from home to your family members, unless otherwise instructed by your doctor.
Remember For Your Safety...

- Ask the nursing staff if you need additional instructions on how to use the call bell system.
