The NorthEast Student Art Gallery was created in 1998 and is located in the Medical Arts Center hallway in front of Cafe 920. The NorthEast Foundation works collaboratively with area schools to display student art.
Participating schools include:
- Cabarrus County Schools
- Cabarrus County Home School Association
- Cannon School
- Covenant Classical School
- First Assembly Christian School
- Kannapolis City Schools
Each quarter, CMC-NorthEast features an official ribbon cutting to unveil artwork on display in the Student Art Gallery. Over 40 pieces of art from area schools hang in the main hallway of the Medical Arts Building. There, patients and their relatives can enjoy the beautiful artistic expressions by student artists.
After three months, two pieces of art are chosen from each exhibit for inclusion in the CMC-NorthEast permanent student art collection, displayed in the Jeff Gordon Children's Hospital. A cash award is given to each of these artist and an additional cash award is given to the winner's school for the school's art program.
